Let's Talk: Food Labels, Health Claims and Country of Origin

The latest information session in our curriculum will help you understand the mandatory food labeling laws, including the latest Country of Origin changes taking effect on 1 July, 2018.

There is a growing demand for Australian made products and let's talk about how to market your products in Australia and overseas.

Let's talk about:

  • FSANZ Labelling requirements
  • What products need to bear a label
  • Making Health Claims, including the Health Star Rating
  • Country of Origin deadlines and requirements
  • Marketing with Australian made trade marks

A light lunch will be served and you will have time to ask questions at the end of each session.

The program

Before the webinar presentation, we will have a Food Technologist present on the new Food Labelling laws and Mandatory changes that are being introduced on 1 July 2018.

Following Emma's information session, we will join a webinar presentation from the Victorian Chamber of Commerce on how to market your products using the Australian made trade marks and Australia Grown kangaroo logo.

Our Speaker:

Emma White is a referral partner of My Other Kitchen and a skilled food technologist with over 14 years industry experience in both the food and complimentary medicine sectors.

She has worked for a number of well-known brands including Latina and Simplot (Leggo’s) and was one of the key developers in creating “Emily’s Kitchen” the ready meals category in 2009. Her extensive experience extends across fresh, frozen and shelf stable products.

Emma has recently commenced her own business “Food Specialists Consultants” with a focus of providing companies with innovative and competitive advantages, through a better understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of their food business and growth opportunities.
