Our proven program can help your community to build and grow successful local food businesses.

Partner with us to bring it to your area

Our clients are starting potentially successful Melbourne food businesses—likely already in your local area.  They have a product they make well, but they don’t understand how to build a business around it, or how to make it safe, sustainable, or compliant. (Without an understanding of food-safe production, this can pose a real risk). Other clients have a food business already, but it’s in danger of collapsing because they don’t know how to scale it properly. Distribution, transportation, and where people collect the food are all important considerations that impact your area.

Food businesses can get one answer from the health office, but not a whole solution. They tell us they struggle to find the right person to talk to, don’t know the exact questions to ask, and have no idea what they need to do. Often people want to do the right thing but find it too hard to navigate.

This leads to noncompliance issues, or businesses folding in your council area that could have otherwise succeeded.

Our Food Business Partnership Program

Our pre-accelerator program is a series of interactive workshop-style sessions, providing participants with a greater understanding of what’s required to start or scale their food business. It includes individual mentoring for each business, as well as experts coming in to teach a range of relevant topics.

The purpose of this Program is to provide the food business owners with an opportunity to

tackle the five biggest challenges that impact business success and present them with

knowledge and an alternative view to reframe those challenges and improve their success

rate. We are happy to work with you to meet your organisational objectives as well. We also bring in subject matter experts, including other local small business owners, building the community of the local area.

Program graduates then use their new skills to develop their food business plan, product, and recipes, bringing them to the next stage of their business venture, and acceptance into more programs that otherwise would not have taken them on.
